Renewables

In recent years Malta has made it a priority to choose greener options for its energy & resources sector. Following its EU membership a number of EU directives and regulations have been adopted setting the scene for a more dynamic sector opening up new business opportunities. The renewable energy revolution, the liberalisation of fuel industries as well as international opportunities in waste trading and other resources continue to require specialist advice.

In 2014 Malta’s energy laws were revamped catering for the largest ever foreign direct investment in Malta made by the Shanghai Electric Group Company Limited into ENEMALTA the state-owned electricity company which ended the monopoly of the energy market in Malta.
